Privacy

The short version

Event Picks · World Cup is built to need as little personal data as possible. There are no passwords and no tracking ads. We only keep what's required to make your picks and the leaderboard work.

What we store

• Your predictions — kept in your browser's local storage and synced to our server so leaderboards and community stats work.
• An entry name — the display name you choose; it is shown publicly on the leaderboard.
• Your email address — used to claim a synced entry, prevent duplicate entries, restore by magic link, handle deletion requests, and email your result if you opt in. It is not shown publicly.
• Passkey credential data — stored only if you choose to add a passkey for restoring your entry.
• Preferences — theme and language, stored only on your device.
• Basic technical logs — standard server request data (such as a truncated IP and timestamp) used for security and to keep the service running.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. The app uses local storage for your picks, theme, and language so the game keeps working between visits. If analytics or non-essential cookies are added later, we will add a consent notice before they run.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, we don't run advertising or third-party trackers, and we don't require a password or social login. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Your choices

You can clear your picks and preferences at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. To have a synced entry removed from the leaderboard, get in touch via the contact page.

Retention

Synced entries are kept through the tournament and for up to 90 days after the final so results, share links, and deletion requests can be handled. After that, we plan to delete or anonymise entry emails and keep only aggregate, non-identifying leaderboard stats.

Changes
